It is stated many times that homosexuality is a considered a,mortal sin, or disobedience to God's laws. It is stated, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." Most churches, like the Roman Catholic church and Eastern Orthodox church look down on homosexuality. However, not all Christians are against it, such as the United Church of Christ and most Protestants. Actually, the Metropolitan Community Church was founded by gay and lesbian Christians.
In recent years, Christian priests, especially in the Catholic denomination, have been accused of sexual abuse towards minors.These cases, which were usually not discussed, are now becoming more common by the day. The Catholic Pope, Pope Benedict XVI, has been accused of covering-up numerous cases. Cases that haven't been covered up, have been tried in the legal system, however, not all cases are reported' many victims don't tell anyone.
